Join along with Katie and Panther as that curious black kitty gets into all sorts of mischief.

One day, Uncle Chris brings Katie a new friend. Panther is a black kitten with mint-green eyes and a white spot on his tummy. They like to play games together, and Katie makes up a song when they play hide-and-seek that makes Panther jump out. But, one day, Panther is lost, and Katie fears he won’t be found. 

What a cute story! Where Did Panther Go? by Vivian Zabel is perfect for cat lovers of all ages. The first of Panther’s adventures, this series is sure to delight young readers. 

Artist Carrie Salazar provides the adorable artwork for Where Did Panther Go? That mint-green cover, the inside of Katie’s room, and Panther stretched out on the grass are some of my favorite images.

Zabel includes Panther’s Song lyrics, cat facts, and more! If you like cats or sweet stories, Where Did Panther Go? is the perfect choice.

Readers' Favorite 5-STAR Review for WHERE DID PANTHER GO? by Vivian Zabel and 4RV Publishing

I don't post often, but I knew Vivian wasn't going to brag-up her book, Where Did Panther Go? and it's recent 5-Star Review from Readers' Favorite, so I decided I would.

Where Did Panther Go? is an adorable book based on a real-life circumstance (I was actually the one who encouraged Vivian to turn it into a story). Panther is such a character, himself, soon his antics led to other story ideas. So expect to see more of Panther's adventures soon. Carrie Salazar has already started work on the illustrations for book 2: Panther's Snowy Christmas - A Panther Adventure.

Katie and Panther are good friends. Uncle Chris gave her a kitten for her to feel better, and Katie named him Panther. She knows he will become a big cat. Panther grew and Katie petted him, fed him, and gave him treats. She plays hide and seek with him. Panther never goes outside unless Katie is with him. One day Panther slips outside when Katie’s mother opens the door. Hours pass and there is no sign of Panther. Katie waits and waits for Panther to come back. She is scared that something might happen to him and decides to search for him. Will Katie be able to find Panther?

Where Did Panther Go? by Vivian Zabel is an adorable story of unconditional love and friendship, and is a story that all animal and cat lovers will enjoy reading. Carrie Salazer’s illustrations are delightful and charming and capture the camaraderie between the cat and the girl beautifully. The Fun Cat Facts at the end of the book are interesting, and the Panther’s Song can be sung or played. That makes the book interactive and fun to read out in classrooms. All children who have cats at home will be able to relate to Katie and her love for Panther. It is a good story for parents to read out to their children at night, especially if there are cats because, like the Panther song, children can come up with their own musical creations for their pets.

As far as reviews go, and from such a reputable source, that's as good as it gets.

Two 4RV Books Finalists for CLC Award

                                       

Literary Classics Announces Youth Media Book Award Finalists

Rapid City, SD - Tradition continues with the arrival of one of the most anticipated moments in the world of children’s and young adult literature. The 2018 Literary Classics Book Award Finalists and Top Honors Book Awards Finalists have been announced. Selected from submissions by entrants around the globe, these distinguished honorees are recognized for their contributions to the craft of writing, illustrating, and publishing exceptional literature for a youth audience. In this highly competitive industry these books represent the foremost in literature in their respective categories.

The competition this year was tremendous, and we congratulate all of the finalists for their outstanding and inspiring work. Final awards, categories and levels will be announced on November 15, 2018. All Silver, Gold and Top Honors award recipients will be invited to attend a writers’ conference, awards ceremony, formal gala, and authors’ book signing to be held in conjunction with the Great American Book Festival, May 10, 11 & 12, 2019 in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota. 

  

The Literary Classics selection committee is proud to recognize two books from 4RV Publishing:

     4RV Publishing congratulates both authors and illustrators.  As someone said recently, "4RV may take more time than some people like to get books outs, but their books win awards." We want every book to be well-written, well-edited, and well-designed.

      Kena Sosa has now had two books released through 4RV. Her first book, a bilingual English/Spanish children's book Rey Antonio & Rey Feo, and Kindertransport can be found on the 4RV Book Store, as well through other online stores and brick and mortar stores.

     Jeanne Conway has illustrated several books for 4RV including Kena's, all which bring the author's story to life.

     Vivian Zabel wrote several novels and young adult books, many of which won honors. Where Did Panther Go? is the second which made the CLC finalist list. 

     Carrie Salazar has also illustrated several books for 4RV. As well as Where Did Panther Go? , she provided illustrations for Spearfinger, a bilingual book in English and Cherokee. 

 

Unique 4RV Children's Book, SPEARFINGER, Receives Amazon Honor

     Charles Suddeth (@CharlesSuddeth on Twitter), with illustrations by Carrie Salazar, produced one of the first bilingual English - Cherokee children's book we've been able to find: Spearfinger. Charles Suddeth wrote the story based on a Cherokee legend. Tim Nuttle translated the story into Cherokee, which Lawrence Panther edited. Renee' La Viness worked hours to make sure both English and Cherokee worked together and nothing clashed or didn't agree. Carrie Salazar (@swampmonster) made the story live with her marvelous artwork. The unique book interests children and adults.

     Spearfinger, a witch, terrorizes the Cherokees of the Smoky Mountains. No one can stop her. A little boy named Chucha battles her. Can he discover her secrets? Can he put an end to her rampages? The answer is found between the covers of the book, which is available in both hardback and paperback versions.

     Of course, we hope people order copies of the book from the 4RV Bookstore or the 4RV Shop-lets in Oklahoma City/Edmond, but Amazon has given Spearfinger  an honor already:
