I love cleaning up the clutter in stories, whether they are mine, or someone else's. But, I sometimes have to offer suggestions I don't really want to make. Even when it might not seem like it, most of us do have a heart. In the end, our goal is to help you make your story the best it can be. (If it sells well, it also looks good on us, right?) I am currently working with an author who has been very good to work with. Both kinds reminded me of English teachers. There were both kinds in school, too. Whichever, I learned a lot. People should always listen to them and take their advice.Deb Hockenberryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07922483863371643275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2925401174378785919.post-11002584769248953342014-10-27T14:33:23.125-05:002014-10-27T14:33:23.125-05:00I'm happy that my editor is also a published a...I'm happy that my editor is also a published author, so she understands the editing process from the point of view of both the writer and editor.Cherylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08763406432111707494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2925401174378785919.post-6567630563062618722014-10-27T12:10:53.071-05:002014-10-27T12:10:53.071-05:00I've always looked at editors as another sourc...I've always looked at editors as another source of feedback, one which has an inside track on what will fly with readers and what won't. If you aren't willing to at least listen to your editor's ideas, you're being a prima donna, and most of us aren't great enough to assume that mantle. Sorry if this is a repost. Seems like my other post got eaten.
